About Greater Worcester Communication Foundation
Greater Worcester Community Foundation is seeking a Donor Services Associate to join their team. Under the guidance of the Director of Donor Services and the Scholarship Manager, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support for donor relations, marketing, and the scholarship program. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Greater Worcester Community Foundation is a nonprofit grant-making foundation that serves donors, nonprofits, and other community partners. Our mission is to improve the quality of life in the Worcester area by engaging in the urgent needs of the community, such as education, child welfare, neighborhood improvement, health services, nonprofit effectiveness, arts and culture, the environment, and fostering a welcoming community for diverse populations. Our staff is a dedicated team of professionals who strive for high standards of performance and support each other.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide information to donors and other customers as requested
- Assist with gift stewardship and grant processing
- Support the marketing efforts to increase visibility with activities that will include creation/distribution of Annual Reports, monthly E-News, newsletters and website
- Manage contact database; generate reports for mailings and other needs
- Participate in foundation events
- Provide technical support to high school students applying online for GWCF scholarships
- Review, evaluate and screen applications for review by selection committees
- Facilitate meetings of selection volunteers to choose award recipients
- Provide administrative support as needed on other scholarship tasks
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma required; college degree or some college level coursework preferred
- Minimum 3 years administrative support experience in a nonprofit, education or professional office environment
- Strong customer relationship skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers with tact and diplomacy
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- A technical aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with web platforms to be able to make updates to company website as needed
- Experience updating and maintaining contact databases
- Positive attitude with a willingness to pitch in where needed to help the team
- Can work well independently and use good judgment when making decisions
